These terms and conditions govern the purchase and use of tickets for Curiosity Festival, access to and stay on the festival grounds and, where applicable, the use of the Curiosity Festival website and services. By purchasing a ticket for Curiosity Festival, the buyer accepts these terms and conditions. Every person using a ticket and/or entering the festival grounds is deemed to have taken note of the provisions relating to access, safety, and conduct at the festival. The provisions of these terms do not affect the mandatory legal rights of consumers.

Hereinafter referred to as: “Curiosity Festival”, “Curiosity” or “the Organizer”.
Curiosity Festival 2026 takes place on September 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27, 2026 at Massemsesteenweg 300, 9230 Wetteren, subject to any changes announced by the Organizer. The technical development and/or support of the website may be carried out by external service providers. These service providers are therefore not the organizer of the festival and are not a contracting party in the purchase of a festival ticket.
Official online ticket sales for Curiosity Festival are handled via Paylogic / See Tickets.
Paylogic acts as the ticketing service provider and intermediary for Curiosity vzw during ticket sales. The agreement regarding access to Curiosity Festival is established between the ticket buyer and Curiosity vzw. In addition to these terms and conditions, Paylogic’s terms may apply to the technical processing of the order, payment, and delivery of tickets. When provisions relate to the organization or execution of Curiosity Festival, these terms and conditions of Curiosity vzw apply.
The price, ticket category, any service fees, and other costs are clearly displayed in the ticket shop before the order is finalized.
The agreement is concluded as soon as the order via the official ticket shop has been successfully completed and the buyer has received a confirmation of the order. The buyer is responsible for entering his or her details correctly. The buyer must check immediately after receipt whether the order corresponds to the desired festival day, ticket category, quantities, and any additional products or services. Obvious technical errors, material mistakes, or clearly incorrect prices do not bind Curiosity Festival if the buyer should have reasonably understood that there was an error.
A ticket is exclusively valid for the festival day, ticket category, zone, formula, and/or services stated on it. A ticket grants access only once, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Every barcode, QR code, or other unique access code is unique. The first valid scan counts as admission. Copying, manipulating, forging, duplicating, or unauthorized distribution of tickets is prohibited. Curiosity Festival is not responsible for problems arising from a visitor voluntarily providing their ticket to third parties or sharing it publicly. A forged, copied, withdrawn, refunded, canceled, or otherwise invalid ticket does not grant the right to access. Fraud or counterfeiting may be reported to the competent authorities.
Tickets may be issued in a specific name or personalized. Curiosity Festival and/or Paylogic may, if necessary for the validity of the ticket, the age of the visitor, fraud prevention, or access conditions, ask to present a valid official proof of identity. An identity check is carried out only insofar as it is necessary and legally permitted. Failure to prove identity or age may lead to refusal of access when this information is necessary for the relevant ticket or access conditions.
The purchase of an admission ticket for Curiosity Festival concerns a service related to leisure activities to be performed on a specific date or during a specific period.
Therefore, the legal fourteen-day right of withdrawal that normally applies to certain distance contracts does not apply to festival tickets. Consequently, a buyer cannot cancel a ticket or demand a refund simply due to a change in personal plans.
Tickets are in principle not refunded or exchanged, unless:
the Organizer explicitly offers an exchange or refund option;
an option approved by the Organizer for that purpose is available via Paylogic;
the event is canceled or substantially changed in circumstances where the consumer is entitled to a refund under applicable law;
or applicable mandatory law provides otherwise.
Belgian legislation regarding the sale and resale of admission tickets to events applies. Regular or professional resale of tickets is prohibited, unless the seller is legally entitled to do so. Occasional resale at a price higher than the original final sale price of the ticket is prohibited.
If the Organizer becomes aware of a ticket being resold in violation of applicable law, the ticket may be invalidated within legally permitted limits. Any possibility to officially transfer, personalize, or resell a ticket via a platform offered by Curiosity Festival or Paylogic is determined by the options made available for the event in question.
Curiosity Festival does not guarantee the validity of tickets purchased through non-official sales or resale channels.
Tickets for Curiosity Festival may not be used without prior written consent from Curiosity vzw as part of:
commercial competitions or promotional actions;
sales bundles;
advertising campaigns;
customer actions;
hospitality or incentive packages;
sponsorship;
resale for commercial purposes;
or any other commercial activity.
The use of the name, brands, logos, images, or other intellectual property of Curiosity Festival in commercial communication also requires prior consent.
Access conditions may vary depending on the festival day, ticket category, program component, or zone. The conditions stated on the official website, ticket page, and/or the ticket form part of the access conditions. Curiosity Festival has programming for different ages. Specific age conditions may apply to certain festival days, zones, or activities. Minors remain under the responsibility of their parents, guardian, or supervisor in accordance with applicable law and the specific conditions communicated for the festival day in question. VIP, hospitality, artist, backstage, production, and other restricted zones are only accessible with the required accreditation or the correct ticket.
Curiosity Festival may, within the limits of applicable law, refuse access or have a visitor removed from the grounds if that visitor, among other things:
does not have a valid admission ticket;
refuses to undergo a lawful security check;
poses a danger to themselves or others;
causes serious nuisance;
exhibits aggressive, violent, threatening, or intimidating behavior;
seriously disturbs order or safety;
possesses prohibited items;
is obviously under the influence to such an extent that safety or good order is compromised;
does not follow instructions from security personnel, the organizer, emergency services, or police;
seriously or repeatedly violates these terms and conditions.
If the refusal or removal is the result of behavior attributable to the visitor, this does not grant a right to a refund of the ticket or other costs incurred by the visitor, to the extent permitted by law.
Safety is a priority for Curiosity Festival.
The Organizer and the legally authorized surveillance and security services may carry out checks within the limits of their legal powers.
This may include checking:
tickets;
identity or age when necessary;
bags and luggage;
brought goods and objects.
Any check of persons takes place exclusively within the conditions and limits of applicable Belgian law. If a visitor refuses to cooperate with a lawful security check necessary for access, access may be denied. Visitors must at all times follow lawful instructions from the Organizer, security services, police, fire department, and medical emergency services.
It is forbidden to bring items that, according to the law or the reasonable judgment of the security services, may pose a danger to persons, property, or the good order of the festival.
These include, among others:
firearms and other weapons;
knives and dangerous sharp objects;
explosives;
fireworks and pyrotechnic material;
illegal drugs and prohibited substances;
flammable or explosive substances;
glassware;
objects that can be used as striking, stabbing, or throwing weapons;
laser pens or similar nuisance devices;
drones without prior consent;
professional recording equipment without accreditation.
Other items may also be refused for safety reasons.
Bringing your own alcoholic beverages is not allowed, unless the Organizer explicitly determines otherwise. Bringing your own food and drinks may be restricted, with reasonable exceptions for medical necessity, allergies, babies, and other legally or practically justified situations.
Prohibited items may be refused at the entrance. If possession thereof potentially constitutes a criminal offense, the police or other competent authorities may be involved.
Every visitor must behave respectfully towards other visitors, employees, volunteers, artists, suppliers, emergency services, and local residents. Curiosity Festival maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding, among other things:
violence and threats;
sexual harassment;
inappropriate sexual behavior;
racism and discrimination;
bullying and serious intimidation;
vandalism;
theft;
drug trafficking;
public urination;
deliberately disrupting performances;
causing dangerous situations.
Every visitor must respect the infrastructure, nature, buildings, sanitary facilities, and other property. Damage caused by a visitor intentionally or through their fault may be recovered from the responsible party in accordance with applicable law.
Without prior written consent from Curiosity vzw, it is forbidden on the festival grounds, the parking lots, or directly connected zones to:
distribute flyers or advertising material;
promote or sample products;
sell goods or services;
conduct surveys for commercial purposes;
take commercial photos or videos;
place advertisements;
organize sponsorship or guerrilla marketing.
Curiosity Festival applies the current Belgian alcohol legislation. It is forbidden to sell, serve, or offer alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 18. For beer and wine, the legal exception applies whereby these may be sold, served, or offered from the age of 16, provided these products do not contain added strong alcohol for which the legal age limit of 18 applies. Curiosity Festival, catering partners, and employees may request an official proof of identity or other valid proof of age.
If the legal age cannot be sufficiently demonstrated, the sale or provision of alcohol may be refused. Passing on alcohol to persons who are not legally entitled to obtain it is not allowed.
The possession, use, offering, selling, or trading of illegal drugs and other legally prohibited narcotics is forbidden. If a possible violation is established, access may be refused or withdrawn and the competent authorities may be involved.
Smoking and vaping is prohibited in places where this is prohibited under Belgian law.
Visitors must also respect the smoke-free zones and any smoking zones indicated by Curiosity Festival. The sale of tobacco products or e-cigarettes at temporary points of sale at festivals does not take place when this is legally prohibited. Curiosity Festival may establish additional smoke-free zones for safety, health, or organizational reasons.
Curiosity Festival compiles the programming with great care. Artists, start times, stages, presenters, animation, and other program components may change due to artistic, technical, organizational, medical, logistical, or safety reasons. The announced schedule is indicative and may be adjusted. The cancellation, replacement, or shifting of one or more artists or program components does not automatically grant the right to a full or partial refund, provided the festival as a whole takes place and the essential nature of the offered festival day is maintained. If a change is so fundamental that, according to applicable consumer law, there is a substantial change to the agreed service, the legal rights of the consumer remain fully applicable.
Curiosity Festival takes place under conditions that are safe and responsible at that time. Rain, cold, heat, wind, or other normal or reasonably foreseeable weather conditions do not in themselves grant a right to a refund. If weather conditions pose a safety risk, Curiosity Festival may take necessary measures, including temporarily stopping a performance, adjusting the program, closing certain zones, evacuation or – if necessary – full or partial cancellation.
The safety of visitors, employees, and artists takes precedence.
Force majeure is understood to mean any unforeseeable circumstance or circumstance not reasonably controllable by Curiosity Festival that makes the execution of the event wholly or partially impossible, unsafe, or unreasonably burdensome.
These may include, among others:
extreme weather conditions;
natural disasters;
fire;
serious technical calamities beyond the reasonable control of the Organizer;
epidemics or pandemics;
war or serious social unrest;
terrorism or concrete terrorist threat;
government measures;
strikes beyond the reasonable control of the Organizer;
serious security incidents;
failure of essential public infrastructure or utilities;
other similar circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Curiosity Festival.
In case of force majeure, Curiosity Festival may, if necessary, change, interrupt, postpone, or cancel the event. Curiosity Festival will inform ticket buyers as soon as reasonably possible about the consequences thereof. Any possibility of refund, rebooking, replacement, or another solution will be determined taking into account the specific situation and applicable law. No provision in these terms and conditions excludes a right to a refund to which a consumer is entitled under mandatory law.
If a full festival day is definitively canceled and not moved to a new date, Curiosity Festival will inform ticket buyers about the applicable refund procedure. In that case, the refund will take place in accordance with the applicable legal rules and via the procedure indicated by Curiosity Festival and Paylogic.
If an event is moved, Curiosity Festival will communicate what happens to the existing tickets and what options ticket buyers have.
Any separate services that have already been fully performed can only be excluded from refund if applicable law allows it.
Curiosity Festival organizes the event with the care that can reasonably be expected from a professional organizer. Every visitor remains responsible for his or her own behavior and personal belongings. Curiosity Festival is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal goods when this is not the result of a fault for which Curiosity Festival is legally liable. Curiosity Festival is also not liable for damage resulting directly from:
non-compliance with these terms or safety regulations by the visitor;
unlawful or reckless behavior by the visitor;
actions of third parties for which Curiosity Festival is not responsible according to the law.
Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to exclude or limit liability when such an exclusion is not permitted under mandatory Belgian law.
Curiosity Festival specifically does not exclude liability for damage resulting from fraud, intentional fault, or other cases in which liability cannot be legally excluded.
Legal consumer rights are fully maintained.
Visitors bring personal goods at their own responsibility.
Curiosity Festival recommends leaving valuable objects at home as much as possible and not leaving personal belongings unattended. Found objects are handled according to the procedure announced by Curiosity Festival and, where necessary, handed over to the competent services.
Amplified music is played during Curiosity Festival. Curiosity Festival applies the applicable noise standards and regulations. Visitors are encouraged to protect their hearing and maintain sufficient distance from speakers if they experience nuisance. Where applicable regulations require it, hearing protection will be made available.
Parents and supervisors take special care for the hearing protection of children and minors they accompany.
Taking photos and short videos for personal, non-commercial use is allowed as long as it does not hinder other visitors, artists, or the organization and does not violate third-party rights. Professional photo, video, audio, or recording equipment is only allowed with prior consent or accreditation. Recording or distributing full performances may infringe on copyrights, neighboring rights, or contractual rights and is not allowed without permission.
During Curiosity Festival, photos, video, and sound recordings may be made by or on behalf of Curiosity vzw.
These may be used for, among other things:
reporting on the festival;
the website and social media of Curiosity Festival;
aftermovies;
press communication;
archiving;
promotional communication about Curiosity Festival and future editions.
In general atmosphere, stage, and audience shots, a visitor may appear as part of the audience. Curiosity Festival respects both the rules regarding the protection of personal data and the applicable right to image. Entering the festival does not mean that a visitor waives his or her portrait rights without restriction. If a visitor is clearly and individually the main subject of a targeted recording and the intended use requires consent, Curiosity Festival will request consent where necessary. Special care is applied to images of minors. Persons who have questions about a published image in which they appear recognizably or who wish to formulate a reasoned objection can contact info@curiosityfestival.be.
Curiosity vzw processes personal data in accordance with:
Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”);
the Belgian law of July 30, 2018, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data;
and other applicable Belgian and European privacy legislation.

Depending on the relationship with Curiosity Festival, the following data, among others, may be processed:
last name and first name;
e-mail address;
phone number;
billing details;
order and ticket details;
ticket category and visit date;
payment status;
communication with customer service;
age or date of birth when necessary;
data necessary for personalization of tickets;
preferences for which consent was given;
technical data about the use of the website;
photo and video images taken during the festival.
Curiosity Festival only processes personal data that is relevant and necessary for the purpose in question.
Personal data may be processed for, among other things:
Execution of the agreement
processing of ticket orders;
delivery and management of tickets;
access to the festival;
customer service;
communication about practical or necessary changes to the event.
Legal obligations
accounting and tax obligations;
compliance with applicable regulations;
cooperation with competent government authorities when legally required.
Legitimate interest
security and fraud prevention;
safety of visitors and employees;
management and improvement of the event;
handling and defense of legal claims;
general reporting and certain non-targeted atmosphere shots, provided the interests and fundamental rights of the persons concerned do not outweigh them.
Consent
newsletters and electronic marketing when consent is required;
certain marketing cookies;
targeted image recordings when applicable law requires consent.
When processing is based on consent, this consent can be withdrawn at any time for the future.
For ticket sales, Curiosity vzw uses Paylogic / See Tickets.
Insofar as Paylogic processes personal data exclusively on behalf of Curiosity vzw for ticket sales, Paylogic acts as a processor and Curiosity vzw as the data controller. Paylogic may act as a data controller itself for certain own services, such as own accounts, payment services, or other independently determined processing. For such processing, Paylogic / See Tickets’ own privacy policy applies. Curiosity Festival may gain access via the ticket platform to data necessary for organization, ticket management, communication, and visitor service.
Personal data is not sold to third parties.
Curiosity vzw may share personal data with service providers when this is necessary for the organization or execution of Curiosity Festival.
These may include, among others:
ticketing and payment service providers;
IT and hosting companies;
communication and mailing platforms;
accounting or legal service providers;
security and access providers;
suppliers necessary for the execution of an ordered service.
These parties only receive the data necessary for their assignment and must respect applicable privacy legislation. Personal data may also be provided to competent government authorities when Curiosity vzw is legally obliged to do so.
Curiosity vzw does not store personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. The specific retention period is determined taking into account, among other things:
the duration of the contractual relationship;
the need to provide customer service;
legal accounting and tax retention periods;
possible limitation and liability periods;
the need to be able to handle legal claims;
the consent of the data subject when processing is based on it.
When data is no longer necessary, it is deleted or anonymized, unless further retention is legally required or permitted.
Every data subject has, within the conditions of the GDPR, among other things, the right to:
receive information about the processing;
inspect personal data;
have incorrect personal data corrected;
have personal data deleted when legal conditions are met;
have the processing restricted;
object to certain processing operations;
transfer data when the right to portability applies;
withdraw consent at any time when processing is based on consent;
object to processing for direct marketing.

Curiosity vzw may ask to provide sufficient information to verify the identity of the requester. A request will be handled within the timeframes provided by the GDPR.
A data subject also has the right to file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, in Belgium the Data Protection Authority.
Subscription to the Curiosity Festival newsletter is voluntary. Where legally required, electronic commercial communication is only sent after the data subject has given valid consent. Every commercial e-mail contains a simple option to unsubscribe. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing that took place before the withdrawal. Service messages necessary for the execution of a ticket order or for important information about the festival are not marketing messages and can be sent when a valid legal ground exists.
The Curiosity Festival website may use cookies and similar technologies.
Cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the website can be placed without prior consent when the law allows it. For non-necessary cookies, such as certain analytical, advertising, or marketing cookies, prior consent is requested when legally required. A visitor must be able to manage or withdraw their cookie preferences. More specific information can be provided via the cookie management or the cookie statement on the website.
The name Curiosity Festival, logos, house style, texts, photos, videos, designs, campaigns, and other protected content belong to Curiosity vzw or to the respective rights holders.
They may not be reproduced, distributed, made public, commercially used, or adapted without permission, except when legally permitted.
Curiosity Festival takes great care with the information on its website and official communication channels. Obvious errors, printing errors, and technical mistakes can be corrected. Curiosity Festival may update information when necessary.
Such a change cannot be used to unilaterally change essential contractual rights of the consumer to the detriment of the consumer after the conclusion of the agreement without a valid reason.
Curiosity vzw may amend these terms and conditions when there is an objective reason for doing so, for example as a result of:
changed legislation;
government regulations;
security measures;
changed payment or ticketing systems;
organizational adjustments.
For agreements already concluded, a subsequent amendment cannot be used to unlawfully limit essential rights of the consumer with retroactive effect. The version applicable at the time a ticket is purchased remains in principle decisive for that purchase, subject to necessary security or legal measures. The most recent version is available via the official website.

Complaints about the technical processing, payment, delivery, or management of tickets can, when applicable, be handled via Paylogic’s customer service. Parties attempt to resolve a dispute amicably in the first instance. Consumers can, when the applicable conditions are met, also appeal to competent services for out-of-court consumer disputes.
The agreement and these terms and conditions are governed by Belgian law.
For disputes, the courts that are competent according to the applicable Belgian and European legal rules of jurisdiction are competent. Nothing in this provision limits the right of a consumer to invoke mandatory rules on consumer protection or judicial jurisdiction to which he or she is legally entitled.
If a provision of these terms and conditions proves to be wholly or partially invalid, void, or unenforceable, this does not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
In that case, the provision in question will be left out of application or, as far as legally possible, interpreted in accordance with applicable law and as close as possible to its original lawful purpose.
If a provision of these terms should conflict with a rule of mandatory Belgian or European law, that legal rule takes precedence. No provision of these terms may be interpreted as a waiver by a consumer of rights that he or she cannot legally waive.
